MLA Sandeepji Naik plans a Digha makeover

MLA at your doorstep programme
MLA Sandeepji Naik, under his MLA at your doorstep programme inspected Digha ward on June 29 and assured the residents that the region will soon see major development.
Apart from Digha east and west areas, Naik also visited the areas Ilthan pada, Vishnu nagar, Subhash Nagar, Kavari etc. A large number of residents and officials, accompanied him during the visit. Those present included corporators Aparna Gavate, Navin Gavte, Rammashish Yadav, ward officer Tavade, MIDC officers Dhoke, social workers Pandurang Gore, Ansari etc.
Naik inspected the open gutters in the area and the hill water that adds to the woes of the gutters leading to overflow. Since some of the areas in this region fall under forest department and some under MIDC, the road construction work in the area has not been undertaken.
Speaking during his visit, Naik said, “Digha ward in Airoli is the most populated ward in the city with the largest slum colony. Due to lack of coordination between the Forest department and Maharashtra Industrial Development and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the programmes of the municipal corporation have not been effectively corporation has not been effectively implemented in this region. Added Naik, “I will make sure that this area is developed in a well planned manner as soon as possible.”
Assured Naik, “We will soon have all the gutters in the area cleaned and roads constructed. The water from the hill flows down and enters the gutter. Hence, a safety wall will be constructed for people living at the foot of the hill. The height of the foot bridge will also be increased.”
The residents complained to Naik about issues related to Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB), Water bills, Cleanliness in the region, footpaths and road.
The MLA assured the residents that the complaints regarding MSEB will be solved in 15 days. He also said that a meeting will soon be held with MIDC officials and a health centre will be constructed In Subhash Nagar.
He appreciated people’s efforts to keep the region clean and also asked the corporation to take safety measures in the monsoon.
