‘Planetarium at your doorstep’ soon

Green Hope’s Green Mission underway
MLA Sandeepji Naik is all set to introduce ‘planetarium at your doorstep’ of the Green Mission programme undertaken by him through his NGO Green Hope.
According to Naik,” A long with the information on plants and the environment, the youth should also know about the planets and the universe, Hence, we have come up with this program.”
Naik made the announcement at Koparkhairne during a tree plantation under ‘Green mission – 2011’. The drive took place at the civic school in ward no. 32 of the node. A tree rally was also organized by the students on the occasion.
Informed Naik said, “Green Hope organization has been planting trees in the city since 2009. Various competitions are also held to spread awareness among kids. Petitions area also held to spread awareness among kids. By 2015 the city will have the same number of trees as its citizens.”
Speaking to the citizens on the need to save power, “When not necessary on should switch off the lights and fans. Even plastic bags should be avoided.”
Naik told the students, “Students should also know about the planets and universe. Hence, soon a telescope will be brought to the city.”
He added, “This will help students to learn more about stars and planets. It will also help them to build up interest in astronomy. Hence we will be starting ‘planetarium at your doorstep’ programme soon.”
Present on the occasion were corporators, ward and school officials.
